Overview
Geranium Leaf is Aesop’s easiest-entry body balm: a clean, subtly herbal formula that feels familiar without being basic. It opens with mandarin rind—not sweet mandarin, but the aromatic peel—before settling into soft greens and a grounded herbal freshness.
If Resolute is earthy and Rejuvenate is warm, Geranium Leaf sits comfortably in the centre. It’s balanced, likeable, and instantly recognisable as Aesop without being overpowering.
Scent
The first thing you notice is mandarin rind—bright but slightly bitter, more peel than fruit.
As it dries, the mandarin stays, but a green-herbal character unfolds, giving the scent a quiet leafy freshness rather than true citrus.
There’s no dramatic shift; the dry-down is steady, clean, and consistent.
It’s fresh without being sharp, herbal without being medicinal, and approachable enough that it won’t polarise a room. This is the one balm in the line-up you could confidently wrap as a gift and know it will land well.
Texture & Finish
The formula is rich, thick, and slightly tacky at first—very Aesop in its density.
Once absorbed, it softens the skin without leaving it greasy.
It doesn’t smooth rough heels or severely dehydrated patches, but it does leave the skin feeling lightly conditioned and comfortable.
Consistent with the rest of the line, a little goes a surprisingly short way—you’ll need a fair amount for full-body moisturising.
Atmosphere & Ritual
Geranium Leaf works beautifully before bed, where its clean-herbal feel is calming without being sleepy.
It’s equally suited to post-shower routines, especially after gym sessions or workdays when you want something fresh but not energising.
This is the “I want something nice, but not loud” body balm—the one you reach for without having to think about it.
ATC Verdict: Is It Worth the Splurge?
Geranium Leaf doesn’t try to surprise you. It just makes sense. Clean, leafy, and quietly uplifting, it’s the most universally likeable scent in Aesop’s body balm range.
Would I buy it again? Possibly, especially as a safe, scent-agnostic option.
Would I use the whole tube? Yes. It’s easy to reach for, even if it’s not a deep-treatment formula.
Was it worth opening? Yes. For everyday softness with a fresh, modern character.
The calm, unfussy choice. The one balm everyone can agree on.

Editor’s Note
Testing was performed over multiple days, with clean skin and no competing fragrances to ensure clarity on scent, texture, and longevity. Individual hydration results may vary, especially for very dry or calloused areas.
