Ratio Raspberry & Toasted Coconut White Chocolate Review: Balance Over Sweetness
Ratio’s Raspberry & Toasted Coconut White Chocolate combines a 37% white chocolate base with a generous layer of fruit and toasted coconut inclusions across the back of the bar. White chocolate often succeeds or fails on balance, especially when additional flavours are involved. We assessed appearance, aroma, texture, flavour progression and whether the combination delivered enough contrast to make the bar feel considered.

Appearance
The bar is light beige rather than bright white, with a slight gloss and a cocoa butter-rich feel. At around 5mm thick, it delivers a crisp snap, although the lack of moulded break lines means portions separate into uneven pieces.
One side remains largely understated, while the reverse carries a dense layer of raspberry powder and coconut pieces. The contrast creates an artisan feel and immediately signals where much of the flavour is concentrated.
The recycled-style packaging reinforces the handcrafted identity, placing the emphasis more on small-batch character than overt luxury.
Aroma
Milk solids arrive first, followed by a warm toasted character that is more noticeable than the fruit component.
The overall aroma feels restrained rather than expressive. Nothing leaps from the pack, and there is little confectionery sweetness. Instead, it suggests a product built around balance and texture rather than outright intensity.
Taste & Texture
A gentle sourness arrives almost immediately, meeting the sweetness head-on and preventing the creamy base from becoming heavy.
The fruit contributes more balance than flavour intensity. Rather than presenting as fresh berries, it behaves more like a concentrated accent that appears in brief flashes throughout each bite. The coconut provides crunch, mild roasted notes and much of the textural interest.
Melting is quick and smooth, with only a faint graininess as it dissolves. Sweetness remains present throughout but never builds to the point of becoming tiring. Texture and contrast carry as much of the experience as flavour.
Aftertaste & Finish
The finish is relatively short and clean. Sweetness recedes steadily while the roasted coconut lingers a little longer, leaving a gentle reminder of what you’ve just eaten. Nothing becomes cloying or overstays its welcome.
More importantly, the finish encourages another piece rather than signalling the end of the experience.
ATC Verdict: Is It Worth the Splurge?
Yes. What makes this bar successful isn’t intensity. It’s balance.
The fruit provides enough acidity to keep the sweetness in check, while the toasted inclusions contribute texture and contrast. Everything feels considered, with no single element overwhelming the others.
We enjoyed it during the initial tasting and found ourselves returning to it later in the day. That repeat visit wasn’t driven by novelty or intensity, but by balance. The flavours remained enjoyable, the sweetness never became tiring, and the bar proved just as appealing the second time around.
A considered bar that disappears faster than expected.
Editor’s Note
This review was conducted over multiple tasting sessions. While the initial appeal came from the contrast between sweetness and acidity, the texture and balance were ultimately what kept drawing us back.
