Guys are at times a pain to shop for and it seems especially true for Christmas gifts, that’s why we came up with our Guys Christmas Gift Ideas article.
A lot of men (not all men), don’t like to make a fuss about themselves for Christmas and prefer that everything is about their spouse, kids or other family members. Secretly you know that they have something in mind and just aren’t telling.
This means you get painful conversations when you ask them what they might like for Christmas. They say things like; “oh nothing honey, I already have everything I want” or “mmm I don’t really need anything”.
We feel your pain! and if they’re not willing to tell you exactly what they want, we will help guide you to make a better choice.
Tech gifts for guys
1. Sony Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X or both?
Most guys that are into tech have already done their homework. Most likely if they really want something, they have painstakingly read through all of the details, comparisons and reviews available. You might need to be a little sneaky with your line of questioning or listen a little closer to what they are talking about with their buddies.
Ok so yes, both consoles are on the more expensive side and both!? if your guy has at least one of the previous consoles, this will give you a pretty good idea on which he might prefer.
The recent next gen consoles now have versions that offer digital games only or a console that can still use discs. The is a reasonable price difference between the two but our preference leans towards the consoles that can still use discs.
Another thing to consider is game exclusives which are only available on a certain console.
For Playstation 5 some (not all) of these exclusives are:
- Demon Souls
- God of war: Ragnarok
- Gran Turismo 7
- Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
And for Xbox Series X some (not all) of these exclusives are:
- Halo Infinite
- Microsoft Flight Simulator
- Warhammer 40K: Darktide
- Forza Horizon 5
Although there are a few considerations, don’t worry too much as either console is going to a massive hit.
